Employer of Record Services
We have a network covering over 100 countries for Employer of Record services (sometimes called PEO services) -our local partners will employ staff on clients’ behalf, so they don’t have to immediately make the commitment of setting up a branch or subsidiary in that country-at least not immediately.
We employ staff on behalf of clients in Andorra, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Poland, South Africa, Sweden & UK. In these countries we charge clients 10% of the employment costs. For the other 100+ countries, we use partner companies, simply adding a small margin to the local partner charges.

Payroll & PEO Services
- One of our providers of HR & Payroll Services in Spain has raised the % fee but bases it now just on salary and not salary costs + employer social charges which is more usual. The service comes out cheaper at modest salary levels, and more expensive at the high salary levels.
- A project for Spain for the outsourcing of a 350-person payroll has been put on hold because of the Corona virus. We will re contact the potential client in February 2021.
Employment Outsourcing Services
- Finally started the employment in Brazil mentioned in our August report. It is a new Belgian client.
- We quoted for an outsourced employment opportunity in
• New Zealand for a French client.
• Jordan for a Chinese client - A contract was signed with a USA based company using this same HR & Payroll Services provider for Spain. The employee starts in October.
- A client contacted us about in HR Outsourcing South Africa. Up to a few years ago a foreign company could register just as an employer with the tax and social security authorities in South Africa. (Just like a South Africa company can do in UK, France, Germany). But then the SA government changed the rules and said foreign companies employing staff had to have branch or subsidiary or some other form of legal entity there. I remember it was a real nuisance. Clients had to quickly decide whether to form legal entities, have their staff employed by local Employer of Record companies or just pull out of South Africa.

- We had an opportunity for an Employer of Record Service in Finland, but we have given it to another company because of its complexity and the fact that we have not yet set up our branch in Finland.
- One of our largest clients has just transferred 10 Israeli employees to our Employer of Record Service starting in November.
- Employer of Record quotations have been submitted for a client with almost 200 employees in 15 countries.

- Started a new payroll admin service in Denmark for an existing client. We presently service this firm in Egypt Poland and Sweden.
- Quotes for HR & Payroll Services in Germany, Estonia await decisions
- We responded to an RFP from a Washington based NGO for 10 or so countries -a payroll service for 3 countries and an employer of record service for 7 countries.
- We provided cost data to our HR & Payroll Services partner in Mexico for a multi country payroll opportunity.
- The firm in Norway that provides payroll administration services has said they are exiting the business when their employee retires at the end of 2020. We have been conducting a Beauty Contest to decide who we will choose as the new provider.

- We set up an extra potential provider of HR & Payroll Services in Jordan -although we are very happy with the present one!
- An employment contract we provided for Germany was rejected as having some mistakes. We quickly arranged a new contract with a different provider of services. The employee started in August.
- New employees started for clients in Jordan, France and Switzerland.
- We received the bad news that an employee in Denmark was to be terminated during the probationary period.
- A Belgian client gave us the go ahead for a new employee in Brazil. The employee should start in September.
- We made a proposal for 3 countries to our existing provider of HR & Payroll Services in Slovenia. It is very satisfying when one of our “suppliers” also becomes a client.
- 1 employee contract expired in Keyna

- We added new providers of HR & Payroll Service in China to our network.
- One of our most successful countries for HR & Payroll Services is Belgium and we made an offer to a Belgian company for an employee in Brazil.
- We added new providers of HR & Payroll Services in Japan to our network.
- Finally signed off the accounts for Compandben in Poland. It made a small loss.
Accounts in Poland have to be signed using an Electronic Signature which we found difficult.
Employment Outsourcing Services
- We finally started a new employee in the UK on behalf of a Dutch beverage company.
- We added new providers of HR & Payroll Services in Japanto our network.
- We have an opportunity to provide a HR & Payroll Service in Estonia for a USA firm .We started procedures for setting up a company there but then negotiated a reasonable offer from an existing company so decided to go with that firm as a provider.
- We contacted our network partners for data on “On Call” arrangements for an American client. And another client asked us about vacation rules in France - they had an employee that wanted to take 3 consecutive weeks off which was not too convenient.
- We employed 11 Interns for a US Finance organisation over the summer months on high salaries and benefits. 3 in Croatia, 4 in Romania, 2 in France and one each in Italy and Serbia.
- In addition, we employed full time workers:
2 in France, 1 in Switzerland, one in Serbia, and one in Croatia.
But unfortunately 2 fixed term employee contracts expired one in Italy and one in France - Covid19 continues to take a great economic toll on one of our largest clients in the travel sector.

- We developed a spreadsheet for a client showing different potential payroll providers and their costs for a 350 person payroll in SPAIN.

- Finally started an employment service for a Dutch firm -staff in France and Denmark . UK employee is to follow in July, employed by Compandben International Ltd our UK entity.
- We started a training course for our Francophone specialist in Geneva using a local French training resource.
- We have tried to find new employment for an internal sales lady we will have to make redundant later this year.
- We did a lot of work concerning the ‘Stans …Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan. The project has not developed with the client but it is useful for our database of partners and prices .
- We started new workers in Switzerland, Hungary, Pakistan, Serbia, Romania and Lithuania
- 2 employees contracts expired, one in France and one in Latvia
- We hired the second employee in Germany for an aerospace company.

- Provided an outsourced employment service for an employee in Netherlands for USA firm.
- Started employment of an employee in UK in Compandben International UK UK. This was classed as a TUPE transfer-subject to the EU Transfer of Undertakings legislation. It has been complicated to transfer the pension and life insurance over.
- We terminated an employee in UK owing to a permanent drop in business for the client.
- An agreement for outsourcing of ten employees in Franceis under negotiation with an Indian firm.
- Set up an outsourced employment service for 3 employees in France for a USA PEO client but for 3 different USA clients.
- Started the outsourcing of employee in Montenegro for USA firm
- Started an outsourced Employer of Record service Ireland for a USA firm for just one employee, using our company Compandben Ireland.
- Under pressure from Covid 19 we had to restrict working time for 3 employees, reducing the working week by one day.
Because we charge a % of salary and employer social charges as our fee, this immediately reduces our revenue. - Under pressure from Covid 19 economic impact one of our clients has reduced costs by 30% which automatically drops our revenue by 30%.
- Started three new employment outsourcing implementations in Austria
- Launched an employment outsourcing assignment in Vietnam including private medical benefits for a US-based food and beverage ingredients firm.
- Went live with an EOR solution in Switzerland with a new Employment of Record partner. We routinely send to our local employment services partners a month’s salary deposit. Our previous partner in Switzerland has decided to keep the deposit for 6 months; but our client wants his money back ! so we have obviously now decided not to use this firm in the future.
- We had 3 proposals rejected and lots of projects are effectively frozen because of the Covid19 epidemic.
- We got the go ahead for an employment service in Soudi Arabia. We are using a new provider of services as we had some disagreements with the previous one. Pity as in the past we have got on very well and Saudi Arabia has been a successful country for us.

- Made a proposal to an existing client to consolidate the payroll and PEO solutions in place across 10 countries in EMEA and APAC regions, allowing them to have one service contract for all countries and make one single payment in one currency per month for all salary and disbursements.

- Signed an agreement with a USA university for a HR service in Australia and implemented the service straight away.
- Provided pro bono intelligence and advice to clients on compliant options in 30 different countries for reducing overheads/staffing costs during the COVID-19 outbreak.
- Assisted two clients with set up of a PRSA pension solution in Ireland .
Employment Outsourcing Services
- Signed a general agreement with a Swiss software firm for an outsourced employment service in Singapore. The firm is still recruiting for the staff and with the economic present slowdown we don’t expect any action till Autumn.
- Signed an agreement with a Netherlands firm for an outsourced employment service in Denmark , France , and UK. BUT the client has just put everything on hold till the Corona virus eases!
- Set up an outsourced employment service for 3 employees in Francefor a USA PEO client but for 3 different USA customers for immediate implementation.
- Quoted for employee outsourcing for a USA client of 13 employees Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Philippines, Vietnam Singapore and Bangladesh for later this year
- Quoted for a USA client for employee outsourcing for Netherlands, and Poland.
