Generalist HR management: direction of teams of employees covering HR
specialities such as policy and procedure development, worldwide compensation
and benefits planning, manpower planning, international employee transfers,
budgeting, job evaluation and grading Indirect supervision of remotely
based HR employees- 160 countries, 6000 employees.
Direct “hands on” International HR management salary program
development, senior level recruitment, manpower control, remuneration
approval, development of training plans and budgets, termination negotiations,
budgeting and cost control,
International share plan management for 160 countries, involving supervision
of a Jersey based Trust, share plan regulatory and tax issues, salary
data analysis, decision making on option recommendations, negotiation
with banks for share purchase on vesting.
Integration of employees acquired through acquisition: Presentations to
employees and representatives, union negotiations, interviewing, integration
into existing company structures, job offers, secondment and mentoring
arrangements (“parrainage”).
International employee communications: team direction involving company
newsletter, intranet, instruments to favour verbal communication, staff
directory development –paper and online, development of once off
employee communication programs and permanent on line information databases.
Employee Relations: direction and development of projects such as employee
surveys, whole and sample, ensuring action taken on issues identified.
Change Management: spearheading implementation of company initiative,
including the roll out of a “Leadership” training program,
direction of a committee to ensure action taken on issues arising, and
subsequent development of project and team based follow ups to the leadership
program.
HR Operations Support Function: supervision of services providing global
HR coordination for major operations projects such as help desk rationalisation,
training needs development, job redefinition, and staff redeployment.
Transfers of Undertakings: direction of project involving handling of
legal, financial, trades union and employee relations aspects, presentations
and development of online information- 10 countries, 600 staff, transferred
to another company following a joint venture agreement.
